Mahendra Wickremarachchi

Educated at Royal College, Colombo 07 and experienced at Senior Managerial Level as a General Manager together with extensive academic and practical knowledge of Financial Management, Administration and Strategic Planning. During the past 25 years, Mahendra have gathered a rich blend of experience by working in private sector in Sri Lanka as well as in the United Kingdom and United States of America and broadened the knowledge and experience as a moderate entrepreneur. On acquiring professionally qualifications in Radio Production and Presentation and in Sound Management has become an eminent comperer in presenting varieties of live and studio programmes.

Dr. Kosala Mutukumarana

(Medical Doctor)

Honourary Director for Palliative and Supportive Care Management

Studied at Royal College, Colombo 07 and currently is a medical doctor with for almost 25 years experience . He has been actively involved in teaching communication and counseling of cancer patients for last 15 years and presently work at the Palliative Care unit of the National Cancer Control Programme. He worked as the Medical Officer in Medical Oncological Clinical setup for 4 years followed by as the in charge of the Patients’ Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Sri Lanka for 10 years which gave him  vast experience in issues faced by Sri Lankan with widely spreading cancer and therefore enthusiasm in reducing the burden of cancer. He has conducted numerous programmes on cancer prevention, counseling, communication, relationship building and survivorship for doctors’ nurses and other healthcare staff.

Ms. Ishani J Abeyratne studied at Rathnavali Girls College, Gampaha and now serves as Class 1 officer of premier civil service of the country ,the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS). She has gained rich mix of experience for more than 20 years by working in the government sector, private sector and in international organization
(internship at the World Bank, Washington DC). She holds MPA from University of Columbia, New York, Post Graduate Diplomas in Business Admin. and Economic Devp. and B.Sc from eminent Universities of Sri Lanka. She has obtained advanced professional training in USA, Japan, Singapore, China and India .Over the years she has gathered not only the knowledge, skills and experience appropriate for the position but aspirations that are well aligned with objectives of the respective organizations.

Mr. Samantha Amaranath

Group Assistant General Manager – Finance, CIC Feeds Group of Companies, 252, Kurunduwatta Road, Ekala.

Mr.Samantha Amaranath studied at Bandaranayake College, Gampaha. He has acquired full professional qualifications from Association of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ACA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK (CIMA) and currently employed as Group Fiancé Director of leading group of companies in Sri Lanka . He is reading for MBA while graduated from the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura in BSc (Business Admin). He is effective, enthusiastic financial managerial and accounting professional with over twenty years’ experience out of which ten years of experience in the capacity of senior management team, providing business strategy, business generating ideas that has exceeded targets, minimized risk and maximized growth. He is capable of achieving financial management strategies to the highest possible standards of excellence, transparency and compliance with all external regulations, accounting and financial management standards and internal policies and procedures.

Mr. Thilina Samarasooriya

(B.Sc.)

Director – Training & Foreign Relations, Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Torington Square, Colombo 07.

Mr. Thilina Samarasooriya studied at Royal College, Colombo 7 and obtained his B.Sc from the University of Colombo. Currently, the Head of Training and Foreign Relations at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and gathered over 33 years’ experience in the field of electronic media. He began his career as an educational broadcaster, specializing in science communication, and obtained advanced professional training in Malaysia, Netherlands and Germany. In 1993 he won the Commonwealth Relations Trust Bursary for independent research in the United Kingdom. He teaches broadcast journalism as a Guest Lecturer at the Universities of Colombo, Sri Jayewardenepura and the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Nadee Tharangamala Pallewatta | Heals the Life team member

Ms. Nadee Tharangamala Pallewatta

(English Special Trained)

English Teacher, 462 / 4, Nanda Avenue, Colombo Road, Gampaha.

Ms. Nadee Tharangamala studied at Sacred Heart Convent, Galle and Rathnavali Girls College, Gampaha and currently is a trained teacher of English with more than twenty years of post qualifying experience. She is a wood badge holder in scouting and serves as a voluntary scouting instructor. Her dedicated services as a teacher has rewarded couple of hundred students to secure gold star awards in scouting and many awards at English language competitions for children trained by her. In addition she has been renowned as talented announcer among teachers and engages in many benevolent activities as a voluntary social service worker.
